Apprentice Atelier A La Cart Classes
Perhaps you don’t have the time or resources to do an Apprentice Atelier Masters Course, then the Atelier A La Cart is the next best thing. These classes allow you to be topic specific, medium specific, or skill specific and order just those classes. Maybe you would like to have art lessons available on the weekends to enjoy and do as a family. The Atelier A La Cart allows for ease and flexibility with fewer projects.
The Sea
This class embodies two things that we love: the sea and mixed media collage. This class was inspired by this painting by Van Gogh titled The Sea at Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, 1888. We will use it as our inspiration and model for this project. We use simple tools, simple materials to create this Seashore of texture and cool colors. This class is for kids and adults of all ages, a great family project.
Creative Collage and More
In this course you will take the ordinary and create something extraordinary to use in your art. You will create your own designer papers and other supplies for a beautiful collage. This is up-cycling with artistic flair! Students will put into practice the element of design, texture and repetition using their created work to create a collage inspired by Van Gogh’s Sunflowers.
Drawing & Mark Making
Van Gogh said, ”Drawing is the root of everything.” In this class, you will learn about this master artist’s life, his techniques and use similar mediums and tools to make your mark and do some drawing. You will begin to draw and create your own marks as you practice and create images like Van Gogh. This class is appropriate for children 7 yrs. and older.
Watercolor Whimsy 101
Watercolor painting is my favorite and my signature medium! I love the soft edges, its translucent quality, its unpredictability and versatility. I look forward to the opportunity to teach you the basics of watercolor painting, watercolor materials, and some different techniques as you explore the medium of watercolor.
Free Lesson
Let’s start with the basics. This class introduces you to the wonder of Van Gogh. You will learn about his signature mark-making in his sketch, Road to Tarascon, 1889. This is the first lesson in Mark Making. For ages 7 and up.
Beyond the Crayon
Using the ever basic crayon we will go beyond the crayon and coloring book to create our own version of a Van Gogh's Masterpieces. In this class, you have permission to lay on your tummy, dump out the box of crayons, peel off the outer crayon paper! Suitable for everyone who can hold a crayon!
