{Camp heARTful} is a week long, summer day camp, taught at the Apprentice Art Studio, in Tacoma,WA. Campers come together, ages 8yrs. and up. with multiple skills and abilities to learn together and from each other. These thematic camps are designed to weave creativity and faith together. We are excited to bring you two brand NEW wonder-filled art camps this summer with lots of Biblical truth thrown in!

Drawing the Golden Ratio
The Nature of ART
At this fresh NEW camp, artists will get back to nature and use the natural world as inspiration. Campers will create tools from nature and recycled materials. During this camp, artists will draw, paint, and collage things "au natural". This camp is geared for artists 2nd grade and older. Let's use what God has given us to create unique and wondrous works!
Campers will learn to:
Create a nature journal from recycled materials
Use repetition, pattern, and nature to create mandala designs
Flower Garden Print
Paint with plants
Clay project
Students will use a variety of materials for this class including:
Collected things in nature from your yard
Recycled cardboard and paper
Acrylic Paint
Clay

The Golden Ratio is an ordering of the Cosmos and refers to a ratio and theory found in science and mathematics. What does this have to do with art? Lots! I can't wait to take you on this journey.
This class is tailored to older students in 5th grade and up. In this camp, artists will learn and use several drawing techniques to sharpen their skills of observation while refining their eye for detail, light, and shadow. Students will learn the mathematical way to draw shapes using a compass, ruler and pencil. Subject matter will be centered around objects that contain the Golden Ratio.
