Personal Process Journal And Summer Art Study
I have had a really full fall teaching at my new job this year and so I am just now getting to this post on my summer art classes-oh brother! Anyway, I hope you will find it helpful or encouraging at least as I continue to practice my skills. I made the video flip through as you will see before I even had everything put securely into my journal.
Just look at this amazing journal hand-dyed and hand-bound, chunky, leather journal! This is a journal I purchased from Leather Village off Amazon to house all my artistic study and summer art class work. This summer I will be continuing my study of oil painting one is for still life and another is working from masterworks. Both are quickly becoming my favorite subjects to do. I have decided to showcase my work from these classes in this amazing journal.
Hopefully, it will show the progress of the completed work. The two study classes I am taking this summer can be found at Jeanne Oliver’s art class site, one by Marion Parsons called Alla Prima, and the other by Roselyn Pratt, called Ten Days of Art. Maybe by then, I will begin to venture out on my own. I will have enough work to also contemplate style and genre. Currently, I am really enjoying still life and landscapes, and I already have ideas percolating, oh how I love to dream! Enjoy my flip-through I hope it will inspire you to take your own online class too!
You might also be interested in this other flip-through video, of my handmade journal signature. Perhaps you would like to know how to create one of these yourself. I used upcycled materials many of which I am sure you already have in your home. It is super easy and you could make several of them at a time. The great thing about creating your own is you can make them exactly the size you like. I tend to like a larger format for mine, at least 8 x 10.
