Winged Things Sewing and String
What an amazing week of creating at The Apprentice Art Studio! These three kid-creators were an absolute delight, full of amazing ideas and energy. I enjoyed each of them so much this week. What was so fun was to hear them talking about how much they were enjoying sewing and weaving. Each day they would say things like:” I wish this class was five hours long!” “ I love sewing!” “times up already? Ahhh” I love allowing them to run with their ideas and bring them to life, is my favorite thing!
To be transparent, I had entered this week a bit discouraged that more kids hadn’t signed up. But I ought to know better by now that God has better things in store for me and this art studio. I am so grateful, because this allowed me to give individual attention to each of my artists ideas, untangle stubborn thread and knots (which I got very good at doing) and offer gentle guidance and gobs of encouragement! I had a large sewing class this this spring and it was quite different in its feel.
This was schole learning: Latin for restful, intentional learning, with a feeling of community and joy, the best way to learn. Thanks Lucas, Adia, and Joanna I had the best week with you all!
I can’t wait to see you all at a Winter Wonderland Workshop on our next school break! If you would like to be notified of this and other upcoming workshops sign up on the wait list.
