Summer Update- Yes I'm Still Here
Hey Apprentices and Artists!
I love this picture it reminds me of the lazy, warm, evenings in summer just at what photographers call the golden hour. This is the ultimate summer scene for me in the Pacific Northwest! I know it has been too long. It is time for a serious summer update! Oh, how I have missed you all in so many ways. This COVID thing…it’s not my favorite thing, at all!
However, when life gives you lemons… let’s make art! I hope that this finds you spending more time using your creative noggins’ to pursue art. I know I have. It has been wonderful to be in nature AND my sketchbook again! I have also significantly turned down the time spent on screens in lieu of hiking, reading, working in the garden, drying herbs, berry picking, cool evening walks, coffee on the back porch, and cleaning out the studio.
Summer Virtual Art Camps
Virtual Art Camp was a success! My students were wonderful, patient and looked forward to our time each day, as did I. And as usual, the time flew by because we were having so much fun. I was also thrilled with the parent participation and partnering with me. This was an unexpected bonus. I humbly thank all the parents for giving some time to collecting supplies, hooking up zoom, pulling into a rest stop to have art class on a road trip. YES, THIS REALLY HAPPENED! I was out of my ever-lovin’-mind when I heard and saw this! (Agustsson Family, you have rocked my world- I seriously will never be the same. hmm... art on the road, there is boatloads of validity in this, it could be part of my future retirement plans, yipppeee!).
