The Art of Practice

I recently got a travel size set of watercolor paints and I was anxious to give them a try. Partly because it is fun to try out a new purchase, if feels much like Christmas, and partly because it was a different color palette for me to work with. I had been wanting something with more earthy tones to use for landscapes and on my hiking adventures so I felt like this was the one.

However, one of my favorite things to paint are flowers. So, naturally I used my new palette to do just that. Here is the result of an afternoon of bliss. My new palette is Woodlands by Art Philosophy. Look at these yummy color names: Sand Ridge, Stream, Foxberry-my favorite You can’t help but be taken away into the woods. I look forward to painting my adventures with this new palette. The amazing thing is that it is about the size of an Altoids tin, maybe a bit bigger. Perfect for hiking! I will share from my journal once I have used them in the woods. I. can’t. wait.
