Summer Reading
I love summer. It's rhythm offers me a change in the everyday that my heart and mind desperately need. The long. warm, days offer a slowing down, nurturing-my-soul kind of way. It gives space to the opportunity to can blackberry jam, sit by the shore and sketch, paint for pleasure, take an art class, linger over al fresco dinners with good friends, bike ride with my husband, tend my roses, and summer's rhythm allows me to do lots of reading! I am excited because the Pierce County Library has an adult reading program, pretty cool- even I can win prizes, yippee!
For my artistic pursuits, I am reading:
The Artists Way by Julia Cameron
Pod Casts for Dummies by Tee Morris and Chuck Tomasi -for the website of course!
Gracelaced by Ruth Chou Simons of Gracelaced
Artist's Sketchbook by Cathy Johnson
The Artisans Soul by Erwin Raphael McManus
For professional insights I am reading:
Articles and Academic reading for professional development from Classical U at Classical Academic Press
Schole Learning- Dr. Christopher Perrin
Classical Pedagogy-Dr. Christopher Perrin
Education and Community-Dr Christopher Perrin
Assessing Students Classically-Dr. Christopher Perrin
And for Book Club this summer
The Marriage of Opposites by Alice Hoffman
Lots of wonderful things will be swimming in my head, inpsiring dreams, taking me on adventures, learning new skills (yes pod casting will be one of my new skills). What are you reading this summer?
